The new ASG Annual Students Support Scheme (AS3) initially begun in 2016 as an ASG
Tutorial programme only and
later evolved into tutorial with mock examination dubbed the Actuarial Support Eligibility Test (ASET).
The ASG organizes the tutorial and ASET for its student members and actuarial students with the ultimate
intension of providing participants with a detailed understanding of the core actuarial concepts and principles
that Actuaries require to enable them undergo the rigorous qualifying examination. The annual tutorial thus
focuses on the preliminary actuarial examination, the Probability (Exam P/1) and Financial Mathematics
(Exam FM) while the ASET provides an avenue for participant to obtain funding support by taking our Computer-Based Test these 2 examinations.
The new AS3 is a consolidation of the existing annual tutorial and ASET with a wider coverage and improved
awarding scheme and process. The Scheme provides funding for promising actuarial students to register for
the SOA/CAS preliminary examination. By extension the scheme help the ASG a professional organization to
transition actuarial students to student actuaries by supporting them from the coverage of core syllabus
through funding examination and mentorship through the
Graduate Actuarial Training.
